Benevity Community — End User Terms of Use
Welcome to the Benevity Community (the “Community”). The Community is operated by Benevity, Inc. (“Benevity,” “we,” “us” or “our”) and provides a forum for Benevity clients to connect, share knowledge, and access resources. By accessing or using the Community, you (“you” or “User”) agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Community.
1. Scope and Relationship to Other Terms
These Terms apply only to your use of the Community. Use of Benevity’s core products and services is governed by the Benevity End User Terms of Use and other applicable agreements between you or your employer and Benevity.
2. Eligibility
The Community is intended only for authorized representatives of Benevity clients. By using the Community, you represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of your organization in connection with your participation.
3. Purpose of the Community
The Community is a collaborative forum where members can share insights and best practices, ask questions, connect with peers, and stay informed through discussions, events, and resources. While we encourage open discussion and idea sharing, the Community is not a substitute for Benevity’s official support channels. For technical support, please reach out via the B-Hive .
4. Appropriate Use
You agree to use the Community:
- In accordance with applicable laws and regulations;
- For legitimate professional purposes connected with your relationship with Benevity; and
- In a respectful and inclusive manner: We’re here to foster an open and welcoming environment. That means:
- Be kind: Treat others with respect and empathy even when you disagree.
- Help each other: Assume good intent and aim to contribute constructively.
You agree not to:
- Post unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or otherwise objectionable content;
- Share confidential, proprietary, or sensitive information (yours, your employer’s, or a third party’s);
- Post spam, junk mail, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or unsolicited promotional content;
- Use the Community to advertise, market, or promote your products or services;
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems, data, or accounts;
- Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
5. Restrictions on Use
You agree that neither you nor anyone acting on your behalf will:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code, object code, or underlying structure, ideas, or algorithms of the Community platform;
- Modify, translate, or create derivative works based on the Community platform;
- Use the Community for timesharing or service bureau purposes, or for purposes other than engaging with Benevity, connecting with other clients or supporting the growth and success of your impact programs;
- Permit any third party to access the Community;
- Remove any title, trademark, copyright, or proprietary notices from the Community;
- Access the Community in order to build a competitive product or service, or copy ideas, features, functions, or graphics of the Community;
6. Content and Intellectual Property
- 6.1. Your Content. You retain ownership of any content you post in the Community (“User Content”). By posting, you grant Benevity a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, distribute, and display your User Content for the purposes of operating and improving the Community.
- 6.2. No Confidentiality. Content posted in the Community is visible to other clients. You post at your own risk, and Benevity cannot guarantee confidentiality.
- 6.3. Benevity Content. All content provided by Benevity in the Community is owned by or licensed to Benevity and protected by intellectual property laws. You may use such content only as permitted within the Community.
- 6.4. Feedback. If you provide ideas, suggestions, or feedback about Benevity’s products or services, you agree that Benevity may use such feedback without restriction or obligation.
7. Moderation and Reporting
Benevity may monitor, edit, or remove any User Content at our discretion, including content that we believe violates these Terms, is harmful, or is inconsistent with the purpose of the Community. We may do so with or without notice. Users are encouraged to report inappropriate or concerning content using the reporting tools provided or by contacting community@benevity.com.
8. Private Messaging
Any private messaging sent via the Community are also subject to these Terms. Moderators may review private messages if they suspect a violation of these Terms. Users may not publicly disclose the contents of private messages without consent.
9. External Links and Third Party Content
The Community may contain links to third-party websites or resources posted by users. These links are provided for convenience only. Benevity does not endorse and is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of such external sites or resources. You access them at your own risk.
10. Privacy
Your participation in the Community is subject to Benevity’s Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and share personal information.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Community is provided “as is” and “as available.” Benevity disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Benevity will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, business, or profits, arising from your use of or reliance on the Community.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Benevity, its affiliates, and their officers, employees, and agents harmless from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Community, your violation of these Terms, or your User Content.
14. Termination
Benevity may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Community at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Benevity also reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Community, in whole or in part, at our discretion.
15. Account Closure and Deletion
You may request closure or deletion of your Community account by contacting community@benevity.com. Upon deletion, Benevity may anonymize or remove your public posts, but we may retain certain records for legitimate business or legal purposes.
16. Updates
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to revise these Terms at any time by posting a new version on the Community and/or our website and such new version will become effective on the date it is posted. Your continued use of the Community constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
